It’s always a good idea to check the weather before you leave
The locations of our Retreats have been carefully selected to provide our guests a unique and memorable experience. Located on unique and diverse settings we offer a range of experiences and landscape to unwind.
Check the booking page for the specific site address.
We do not need mains power or water to operate. Powered by the sun and dedicated water sources give us greater flexibility in the selection of our locations, opening up some of the most unique and desirable locations to place our Retreats.
Please refer to each specific location for details on sleeping capacity.
Some firewood is supplied for the combustion heater inside the retreat, however, bring some with you for those chilly nights. We do not supply wood for the external fire pit (refer to each site for specifics) so if you intend using the firepit you will need to bring your own wood.
More details will be provided in the pre arrival information.
Unfortunately, we do not accommodate pets in our Retreats.
We have partnered with a number of hosts and are working to make pet friendly sites available in the near future.
A standard two wheel-drive will be able to access the designated parking area of all Retreats. However, each retreat is unique, so be prepared for some dirt roads and walking.
More details will be provided on the pre arrival instructions.
During Your Stay
Our Retreats have been designed to handle all weather extremes. Being off grid, we do try to minimise our electricity consumption; maintaining a low impact, subsequently air-conditioning is not included.
For cooling, our Retreats contain a fan and our windows are operable with screens to allow the prevailing breeze to drift through and cool down the Retreats in the evenings. We also have a portable cooler for your comfort during those very warm nights.
For heating our Retreats include a toasty fireplace (firewood included) to keep you warm on those chilly nights. Being a relatively small space, each retreat won’t take long to warm up.
If you like predictability, we recommend booking your stay during your favourite season.
For the most part, varying weather conditions are all part of the experience. Rest assured our Retreats have been designed to enjoy in all weather conditions.
If there are any extreme weather occurrences on the day of your booking that prohibit the use of our Retreats that are outside of our control, we can either refund or reschedule your booking.
Some of our sites do have provisions for campfires within a defined fire pit.
Please check each site for specifics and bring your own firewood.
Remember that no fires are permitted during fire ban season.
We have partnered with local suppliers to provide the best and freshest produce on offer. These provisions can be pre-ordered from the booking page before you get there, and it will be ready and waiting for you, upon your arrival.
Provisions are also available for purchase within the retreat, if you get the urge for something extra.
Just grab and enjoy, we’ll charge it straight to your credit card.
All our Retreats are fully equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm.
There is a 2-burner gas stove, fridge/freezer, all utensils including knives, wooden spoon, can opener, scissors, cutlery, plates, bowls, saucepans, oil, salt and pepper. We also provide natural dish-washing liquid and paper towels.
We kindly ask that you take all your rubbish with you.
As our Retreats are in such unique locations it’s tricky for any waste removal services to visit us.
Subsequently it is the guest’s responsibility to leave the retreat in the same condition as they found it, including taking all rubbish from inside and outside the retreat with them.
It’s also a good opportunity to consider the amount of rubbish we generate and how we can minimise wastage.
Depending on the location, some sites may have phone reception, but don’t count on it.
It’s a great opportunity to go for a walk, explore the region and rediscover what’s important to you.
Our water is double filtered and suitable for drinking. Please be mindful that water is a precious commodity and try to limit the use of it where possible.
Most of our Retreats have an outdoor bath to soak up the ambience, available for use all year around (especially nice on a cold evening). We also have a bath caddy to keep your wine or tea within reach at all times!
As we are off-grid we are conscious of power consumption and subsequently don’t have a hairdryer in our Retreats as these rapidly deplete our batteries.
